Pay: $60,000 – $85,000 (based on experience)
Recruiting Partner: First Call Direct HireFirst Call Direct Hire is seeking a skilled Estimator / Project Manager for a precision machining company in Fairfield, OH. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong machining background and a passion for estimating and project coordination. You’ll be instrumental in quoting projects involving shafts, gears, pulleys, and other machined components. Key Responsibilities

• Estimate custom machining and manufacturing projects accurately and efficiently.
• Use precision measuring tools for reverse engineering and project evaluation.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to provide customer feedback and detailed estimates.
• Juggle responsibilities across the shop floor, customer engagement, and office support.
• Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and customers.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE when necessary.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong working knowledge of machine processes and tools.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications.
• Confident multitasker with strong attention to detail.
• Customer-focused communicator with a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree (, not required).
• Minimum 2 years of estimating or project management experience OR 5+ years of machining experience.
• Familiarity with material properties and machining principles.
• Experience with E2 / Job BOSS ERP systems ().
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
