Job summary

Cranshaw Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our pre-construction team. You will develop comprehensive estimates across all design phases for diverse project types, using advanced 2D/3D takeoff and estimating tools, and collaborate with project teams, clients, consultants, and trade partners.

The role emphasizes detailed cost analysis, risk assessment, and value engineering to support informed decisions and successful bids.

Qualifications

Minimum 5–10 years of estimating experience.
Proven ability to develop detailed cost estimates across design phases.
Strong proficiency with Excel and MS Office; experience with estimating/take-off software.

Responsibilities

Develop a comprehensive understanding of project scope, requirements, and risks from plans and specs.
Prepare and develop detailed cost estimates through design and preconstruction.
Perform quantity take-offs, material quantification, and pricing analysis with precision.
Manage subcontractor bid solicitation and ensure adequate coverage for scopes.
Develop qualifications, clarifications, assumptions, and scope narratives for bids.
Participate in proposals, client presentations, and interview processes.
Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance value and efficiency.
Analyze alternative building systems and construction methods to support decisions.
Prepare cost comparisons, analyze variances, and reconcile estimates with budgets.
