Job summary

Kay & Co, a respected general contractor, seeks an experienced Estimator for a fully remote position based in the Carolinas market. You will prepare conceptual to hard bid estimates and manage takeoffs for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

The role requires NC market knowledge, experience with GC estimating and takeoff software, and strong organization to deliver accurate budgets for preconstruction and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Estimating experience with a commercial general contractor or construction manager.
• Knowledge of the North Carolina market and its subcontractor base.
• Experience across commercial, industrial or institutional projects.
• Confident with estimating and takeoff software.
• Organised and self motivated with a detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate conceptual, schematic and hard bid estimates.
• Carry out quantity takeoffs and build detailed cost breakdowns.
• Manage bid packages, subcontractor outreach and bid leveling.
• Support value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Work closely with preconstruction, operations and project teams.
• Help hand over clean, well documented budgets to the delivery team.
