Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is recruiting an experienced Commercial Estimator - Overhead Doors & Gates in San Diego, CA to support bidding, pricing, and project planning for commercial projects. You will review plans, perform detailed takeoffs, prepare proposals, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure profitable, accurate estimates.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience in related sectors, strong blueprint reading skills, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction or related field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
• Experience preparing detailed takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and standard construction tech platforms.
• Valid driver's license for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents to develop accurate, competitive estimates.
• Perform detailed takeoffs and pricing for door, gate, dock, and access systems projects.
• Prepare proposals outlining scope, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
• Coordinate with suppliers/manufacturers for pricing and lead times.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and assist with procurement planning.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and customer discussions as needed.
• Build relationships with contractors, builders, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth handoff from estimating to project execution.
