Role Description The Estimator (Lighting) is a full-time, fully remote role responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for lighting projects in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. In this role, the estimator reviews architectural and electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents; identifies lighting requirements; and quantifies materials, labor, and related costs. Daily tasks include performing takeoffs, requesting and analyzing vendor and supplier quotations, building pricing models, and preparing clear, concise bid proposals. The estimator collaborates with project managers, designers, and clients to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and suggest cost-effective and compliant lighting solutions. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of lighting products, codes, and standards, tracking project assumptions, and updating estimate databases and documentation for future reference.
