Job summary

Focus Manufacturing Services in Ogden, Utah, is seeking a full-time Estimator to evaluate customer drawings and specifications and generate quotes. You will collaborate with sales, production, and customers to develop accurate bids across fabrication and machining processes.

Qualifications include experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining, as well as the ability to read GD&T. AS9100D project estimating and SolidWorks experience are preferred; pre-employment drug testing is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
• Proficient at reading and interpreting GD&T.
• Experience estimating AS9100D projects preferred.
• Previous experience in estimating in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience collaborating and managing outside processes such as coatings, heat treatment, anodizing and plating.
• Experience working with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Create bid proposals for new and existing customers.
• Work with purchasing to collect material costs.
• Managing outside vendor relations, pricing, and lead times.
• Work with production to establish fabrication and machining methods and timing.
• Regularly review job costings to establish accuracy of estimates and estimating process.
• Solicit feedback from customers and production to improve estimating accuracy.
• Manage/follow projects through the manufacturing process.
• Resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
• Work closely with other departments to facilitate customer quoting and production processes.
