Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking an Estimator to support the sales and profit goals by developing accurate, cost-effective quotes for low-rise metal building projects. The role requires coordinating with plant, sales, and engineering to deliver competitive proposals.

Responsibilities include preparing thorough estimates, validating information, and offering cost-saving engineering ideas. A safety-first mindset and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience in metal building industry.
• Strong cost estimation and value-engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create competitive, accurate estimates for metal building systems in line with company processes.
• Qualify proposals with all assumed and provided project information.
• Assist sales by identifying economical solutions to provide low-cost proposals while meeting conditions.
• Participate in customer meetings to offer value-engineering suggestions.
• Use pricing tables and software to address all costs for a project.
• Monitor material costs, erection concerns, and fabrication procedures for in-place costs.
• Follow schedules defined by Estimating Supervisor and sales team.
• Develop tools and standards to increase productivity and accuracy.
