Job summary

Koch-Glitsch is seeking an Estimator in Wichita, KS, to support proposal development by estimating material, design, and fabrication costs for trays, packed tower internals, and phase separations equipment. You will interpret drawings and customer specs to define scope and cost drivers, collaborating with process engineers and fabrication teams to ensure accurate estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience with mass transfer equipment or separations technology in manufacturing or design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications.
• Authorized to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive, detailed estimates for trays, packed tower internals, and phase separations equipment.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine scope, materials, and fabrication complexity.
• Build technical knowledge of tower internals to improve estimate quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, sales, quality, and fabrication to validate scope and costs.
• Prioritize estimating work based on commitments, economics, and value.
• Evaluate cost drivers and risks; identify cost-effective alternatives.
• Compare actual costs with estimates and refine estimating methods.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards, materials, and market pricing.
