CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to support project cost estimation in the New York area. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing, and coordinate with vendors.

You will use WBS structures, prepare budgeting and purchasing plans, and contribute to key estimating deliverables while traveling up to 10% as required. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications to identify missing elements.
• Experience with estimating, cost control, and budgeting processes.
• Strong multitasking skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in basic PC software and estimating tools.

Responsabilités

• Produces accurate quantity take-offs by reviewing plans and specs for estimate preparation.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material pricing for projects.
• Applies work breakdown structure (WBS) to estimates.
• Coordinates material pricing with vendors and sources.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Prepares key estimating deliverables and assists senior staff.
• Supports conceptual estimating and develops basic models.
• Develops budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight.
• Coordinates document flow during estimate preparation.
• Provides administrative logging of estimates.
• Performs additional duties as required.
