Job summary

YellowJacket Maintenance is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator / Inspector to join our team in Chicago, IL. You will write estimates and proposals, conduct property inspections, help manage our shop and vehicle fleet, and provide administrative support to leadership.

This is a great fit for someone organized, comfortable in the field and at a desk, turning scope-of-work details into accurate proposals that win business.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Comfortable estimating from field data and site visits/photos.
• Organized and able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Basic understanding of maintenance/construction scopes and pricing.
• Light fleet and inventory management responsibilities.
• Prior experience in estimating, inspections, or facilities/construction maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimate & Proposal Writing: write detailed estimates and proposals with scope of work and pricing.
• Inspections: perform routine property inspections and verify workmanship.
• Shop Stewardship: manage maintenance storage area, inventory, billing, and purchasing.
• Administrative Support: assist Field Construction Manager with payroll and oversight.
• Support job costing and profitability analyses.
