Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Town of Plover, WI is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to accurately diagnose and prepare estimates for vehicle repairs under our Repair Planning guidelines. You will support the estimator and ensure precise documentation and efficient workflow.

You will greet customers, map damage, photograph, upload to CCC One, and communicate with the production team and insurance partners to deliver timely, high-quality estimates and service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within 12 months of employment.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to learn estimating procedures and repair planning.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and prepare estimates for repairs.
• Greet customers and build rapport at repair drop-off.
• Map damage, take photos, and upload notes to CCC One.
• Notify production and verify estimates during teardown.
• Review estimates with customers and insurance partners.

Additionally, the Estimator Apprentice is responsible for communicating the value Gerber provides, resulting in a high closed sales ratio.Key Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).Handles repair mapping, takes initial photographs. Uploads photos and notes to CCC One, along with arrival time, etc.Notifies production that vehicle has arrived and places in production queue. Verifies estimate during teardown.Finalizes estimate using proper Repair Planning Template.Works with repair team to make sure notations on windshield are correct and complete. Puts together final parts list.Uses Promise Date Caculator to set promise date. Calls customer to review estimate and promise date.Updates customer regularly (with frequency, according to standards determined by management).Participates in and contributes to the regularly scheduled production meetings.Calls customers whose cars will be completed the next day. Schedules with customer.Follow up with technicians after vehicle tear down and make adjustments to estimate if needed.Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports, etc., and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors.Education and/or Experience RequiredHigh school diploma/GED required.Prior customer service experience.Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience. Photo-imaging software experience preferred.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent communication skills.Computer literate.
