Job summary

SGS Consulting in the United States, District of Columbia, Washington area seeks an experienced estimator to develop and oversee all levels of project estimates. You will participate in design reviews, plant walkdowns, and meetings to validate costing assumptions and provide clear cost governance.

The role requires coordinating with procurement, maintaining cost databases, and supporting long-range planning and outage activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience building and validating project estimates across multiple estimate levels.
• Ability to interpret design drawings and change packages for accurate costing.
• Familiarity with procurement coordination and cost tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee all levels of project estimates from ROM to Definitive.
• Join project teams, review drawings, and walkdowns to support estimates.
• Estimate labor, equipment, services, and materials using bids.
• Monitor market trends and costs with procurement liaison.
• Support long-range capital and expense planning.
• Coordinate annual project planning and ensure procedures are followed.
• Identify risks, set internal controls, and track cost performance.
• Explain estimate assumptions in meetings and records.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.
• Support biennial outage activities as required.
• Attend meetings and perform additional duties as assigned
