Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Job Description:

  • Coordinate and manage department documentation, including RFI tracking to partners, clients, and owners.
  • Coordinate and manage material pricing, including potential alternates and efficiencies.
  • Review project specifications and scopes, requesting clarification as needed both internally and externally.
  • Actively manage and track bid metrics and values to support accurate pipeline management and financial forecasting.
  • Secure a minimum of three bids per scope for all trades/divisions, including soliciting new trade partners and subcontractors.
  • Schedule time with Superintendents and subject matter experts (internal and external) to understand constructability and resource capabilities, including approach, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and manpower.
  • Visit job sites to identify opportunities where estimating can positively impact construction delivery, including costs, phasing, resource planning, and scope auditing.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, including scope coverage gaps, subcontract exposure, scheduling concerns, and resource constraints.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare supporting documentation to ensure accurate estimates and bids.
  • Partner with Business Development to attend networking functions and expand relationships with peers, trade partners, and client partners.
  • Send, track, and follow up on bid invitations to ensure complete trade and scope coverage.
  • Actively participate in bid day activities, including coordination and support as needed.
  • Assist project managers and team members with buyout and repricing efforts as required.
  • Provide contact lists and all supporting documentation (emails, notes, estimates) for inclusion in the Estimating Handoff Book to support preconstruction transition.
  • Develop proficiency in all required software and platforms, including Bluebeam, Microsoft 365 Suite, Trimble, and other project software used by J.H. Hassinger or its clients.
  • Maintain an accurate bid board and track all estimating opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of subcontractors and industry peers to expand professional influence and market knowledge.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador at partner lunch-and-learns, subcontractor events, and industry functions.
  • Actively identify, contact, and onboard new subcontractors for current and future bid opportunities.
  • Apply for target funds in support of union projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, vocational training, certification from an accreditation organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to meet commercial insurance requirements, CDL preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry or hold 25-50 lbs. more than 10 times per day
  • Ability to perform low posture, crouching, crawling, kneeling or squatting activities
  • Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to clearly communicate with others and convey information effectively
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to manage own time and the time of others
  • Ability to motivate, develop and direct people
  • Knowledge of commercial construction materials, means and methods, and equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources preferred
