Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Estimator I in Omaha, Nebraska to develop and manage scope and cost data for construction estimates. You will work across planning, evaluation, and proposal stages, coordinating with design and field teams to ensure accurate, complete estimates.

The role requires a Civil/Construction degree or equivalent, field experience, and strong knowledge of MEP systems, schedules, and cost software. This full-time position offers significant growth and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, cost estimating and project control software
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, compile, and present scope and cost data for construction and project estimates
• Work on estimates that may be order of magnitude for planning purposes, preliminary for evaluation/study purposes, or definitive for proposal or proposal comparison purposes
• Demonstrate understanding and ability to interrupt construction plans and specifications with respect to preparing cost estimates
• Take responsibility for completeness and accuracy of estimates within defined parameters
• Work on estimates that may reflect any part or total project, or changes to the project
• Coordinate with design and construction staff to obtain estimate scope and schedule data upon which to base estimates
• Perform other duties as needed
