Job summary

Anchor Construction Corporation in the DMV region seeks an Estimator to support heavy civil projects across utilities, infrastructure, concrete and paving. You will prepare takeoffs, review plans, develop bids with HCSS HeavyBid, solicit subcontractor pricing, and help win competitive projects while coordinating with clients and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in estimating, strong Excel/Word skills, and a civil engineering or related background.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of estimating or related construction experience.
• Experience with utilities, infrastructure, storm drainage, concrete, asphalt, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and project cost estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Develop estimates using HCSS HeavyBid and related software.
• Solicit and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Prepare proposals and support bid submissions.
• Track bid opportunities and provide status updates.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
