Overview

Horizon Roofing is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and professional Estimator to join our Commercial Roofing Department. This position analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential to manage daily tasks with attention to detail and deadlines.

This role supports our commercial roofing operations and interacts with clients, vendors, and internal teams to produce accurate estimates.

Responsibilities

• Confirm the scope of work and bid proposals for completeness and accuracy
• Submit timely questions for clarification during the construction bid process
• Prepare shingle and siding project estimates by gathering proposals, onsite inspections, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
• Attend construction pre-bid, pre-con, and post-con meetings as needed
• Work with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Contribute to team effort and work as part of the team to serve our customers

Qualifications

Essential criteria include a passion for the construction industry, strong critical thinking, and exceptional attention to detail. Above-average attention to detail, concern for accuracy, and a commitment to completing tasks on time and within budget are required. Candidates should take their work seriously, apply diligence to satisfy customers, and address problems proactively.

Preferred but not required: a degree in Architectural Drafting, Estimating, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Successful experience in estimating and selling shingles and siding projects is a plus.
