Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical is seeking a Commercial Electrical Construction Estimator for the Tigard, OR area. The role focuses on reviewing specs, performing takeoffs, and developing complete cost estimates for electrical construction projects.

The candidate will maintain supplier price data, incorporate historical data into estimates, and coordinate the estimating effort for bids and projects. This is an on-site position with growth potential in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• One year estimating experience or equivalent combinations of training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control with ability to interpret cost data.
• Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate contents.
• Prepare discipline estimate by calculating complete takeoffs.
• Maintain files of working documents and up-to-date supplier price information.
• Incorporate historical data into unit and man-hour figures for estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and determine scope of work and estimate contents.
• Coordinate total estimating effort for bids/projects as assigned.

Job Summary

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Prepare discipline estimate by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
• Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned

Specific Qualifications

• One year estimating experience or equivalent combinations technical training and/or experience
• Knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data
• Strong computerand verbal/written communication skills
• Validmotor vehicle driver’s license
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
