Job summary

XCAL Tools in South Point, OH seeks an exempt estimator responsible for estimating mechanical work projects within the manufacturing group that develops tailor-made, cost-effective solutions for drilling, trenching, and snowplow systems.

Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, 5+ years mechanical design, CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), Ross ERP and MS Dynamics CRM experience preferred; ability to travel domestically; strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years mechanical design experience.
• 2–5 years of CAD experience required.
• Ross ERP and MS Dynamics CRM experience preferred.
• Ability to travel domestically and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Receive RFQs and perform site visits to develop surveys for new proposals.
• Update drawings using CAD software.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, taxes, and time requirements via detailed take-offs.
• Interface with Purchasing for pricing to prepare detailed estimates.
• Present prepared estimates with numerical and descriptive information.
• Assist sales with new business development.
• Prepare layouts showing details for machinery and devices for assembly or manufacture.

JOB OVERVIEW:

This is an exempt salary position where the employee is responsible for estimating mechanical work projects within the XCAL manufacturing group specializing in developing tailor-made, cost-effective analytical solutions for drilling, trenching, and snowplow systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• BS DegreeMechanical Engineering orRelatedEngineering DisciplineRequired
• Minimum Five (5) Years Mechanical Design Experience Required
• Minimum Three (3) Years Estimator Experience Preferred but not Required
• Two-to-Five (2-5) Years Demonstrated CADD Experience Required
• Ross ERP & Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relations Management (CRM) Software Experience Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming and machining.

• Close visual acuity,near vision, fine manipulation, upper limb coordination, and ability to sit for extended periods while performing essential job duties
• Medium (up to 60lbs) lifting capability while performing essential jobduties
• Ability to work 40+hoursflexible schedule that may require frequent domestic travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and performing site visits to develop surveys for new project proposals.
• Update drawings using AutoCAD.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, taxes, time requirements,etc, through material take-offs of detailed drawings.
• Interface with Corporate Purchasing Department for pricing to prepare detailed, organized estimates of costs.
• Present prepared estimates by compiling numerical and descriptive information.
• Assistsales with new business development.
• Prepare layouts that show details for machinery, mechanical tools and devicesindicatingrequirements needed for assembly or manufacture.
