Job summary

HEI Civil Enterprise in Dallas, Texas seeks an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role focuses on bidding heavy civil projects across roadways, bridges, water infrastructure and related works.

You will read plans, perform quantity take-offs, select subs, and estimate self-performed crews, while building strong client relationships and coordinating with operations and other estimators. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in heavy civil construction and familiarity with large-scale

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.
• Experience with projects from $1M to $50M.
• Ability to read plans and specs, and perform quantity take-offs.
• Proficient with field concepts, practices, and safety requirements.
• Experience with Agtek Earthwork is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bids and estimate self-performed crews and rates.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, and Geotech.
• Determine scope of work and perform quantity take-offs.
• Cultivate and maintain client relationships.
• Coordinate with Operations and Estimating teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator with experience in civil construction to join our team in Dallas, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Sound organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, Geotech.
• Prepare bids, select vendors/subcontractors and estimate 'self-performed' crew compositions and production rates.
• Make scope of work determinations and perform quantity take-offs.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients.
• Communicate and collaborate with wide range of individuals, including both Operations and other Estimating team members
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, means, and methods); supervision, estimating, schedules, budget, and safety.
• Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with Agtek Earthwork take-off software is preferred.
• A desire to learn and grow
• Willingness to cooperate in a team environment.
• Demonstrate 100% detailed understanding of project scope.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Heavy Civil construction. Specifically, earthwork, underground water, underground wastewater, underground drainage and street/highway construction.

Education and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's Preferred).
• Experience: Over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil construction projects, including structure projects, and experience in estimating projects ranging from $1M to $50M.
