Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services in Newark, CA seeks an Estimator to oversee the cost estimation and BOM creation for custom packaging solutions. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quotes protect margins and align with production capabilities.

Responsibilities include preparing accurate cost estimates using ERP systems, Excel, and product builders; converting drawings into BOMs; and delivering timely estimates to support quotes and project execution.

Qualifications

2+ years of estimating experience in manufacturing, preferably customizable products.
Proficiency using ERP systems for estimating and product configuration.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates using ERP systems, Excel, and product builders.
Convert engineered drawings into detailed BOMs for custom packaging solutions.
Calculate material, labor, machine/work center, equipment, and overhead costs to determine pricing.
Deliver estimates within tight timelines to support quotations, proposals, and project execution.
Use the ERP system to create, manage, and track estimates and costing.
Develop and maintain should-cost models for traded materials to improve turnaround on multi-material solutions.
Partner with design, engineering, finance, production, sourcing, and sales teams to ensure estimates align with production capability, cost control, customer needs, and sales ROI expectations.
Continuously improve estimating, BOM creation, ERP usage, and builder efficiency.
Strengthen costing accuracy to avoid underpricing and support faster business decisions.
Prepare monthly reports on estimation accuracy, lead time, and costing performance trends.
