Job summary

Balco, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking an Estimator to serve as the primary point of contact for bid activity in direct markets. You will evaluate project scope and prepare detailed estimates from inception to final budget approval.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree in construction management, business administration or similar preferred.
• 1+ year experience in construction required.
• Experience in estimating, bids and proposals preferred.
• Familiarity with contract requirements and industry best practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare takeoffs and material estimates as required per bidding documents.
• Make special pricing for custom systems as needed.
• Create project notes to identify project needs.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and AHJs during bidding stages.
• Foster and grow relationships with internal and external customers.
• Attend meetings with customers, reps, peers, and management.
• Regular attendance is required; other duties may be assigned.
