Job summary

Balco, Inc. in Wichita, KS is hiring an Estimator to lead bid activities from scope evaluation to final budget approval. You will prepare takeoffs, develop pricing, and work with clients, architects, engineers, and AHJs during bidding.

The role requires reading plans, strong negotiation, and teamwork. On-site in Wichita with potential remote-work considerations for dedicated home office.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in construction required.
• Experience in estimating role preferred.
• Experience creating bids and proposals preferred.
• Familiarity with contractual requirements and best practices in construction industry preferred.
• Experience with E-Takeoff, Bluebeam, Salesforce, Procore, Planswift or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare takeoffs and material estimates per bidding documents.
• Make special pricing for custom systems as needed.
• Create project-specific notes to identify project needs.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and AHJs during bidding stages.
• Foster relationships with internal and external customers.
• Attend meetings with customers, reps, peers, and management.
• Maintain regular attendance; may perform other duties.
