Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Experience estimating commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC requirements, drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst or McCormick.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Residential-only estimating experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts and bid documents to determine scope and pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment and subcontracted work.
• Solicit, evaluate and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop bid proposals, scope clarifications, pricing summaries and VE recommendations.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with project managers, GCs, engineers, architects, vendors and internal teams.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Support project turnover with breakdowns, budget info and scope clarifications.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing and vendor relationships.
• Stay current with material costs, labor rates and market trends.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

The Estimator will manage the bidding process from initial plan review through project handoff, performing detailed takeoffs, analyzing project requirements, obtaining subcontractor and supplier pricing, and preparing complete proposals.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial electrical estimating experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids while collaborating with Project Managers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.

• 5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Experience estimating commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Experience with healthcare, education, institutional, municipal, or other complex electrical projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, NEC requirements, construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
• Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify scope and pricing risks.
• Residential-only estimating experience will not be considered.
