Job summary

Rycon Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Building Group in Pittsburgh. The role involves reviewing documents, performing quantity take-offs, and researching pricing to support cost estimates for diverse projects.

You will develop trade scopes, guide the estimating team, and respond to client and regulatory inquiries as needed. Qualified candidates will have 4–6 years of estimating or operations experience on projects up to $200 million, proficient with Microsoft Project,

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
• 4–6 years of estimating or operations experience on projects up to $200 million.
• Experience performing quantity take-offs.
• Experience leading or supporting a project estimating team.
• Competent with Microsoft Project, Planswift/PlanSwift, OST, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Pittsburgh market preferred, but not required.
• Experience in new construction or renovations of commercial office, healthcare, multi-unit residential, higher education and retail buildings.

Responsibilities

• Preform documentation review and quantity take-offs.
• Research material, labor, and equipment pricing.
• Participate in gathering data to support market condition research, including market trends, current projects, and labor availability.
• Calculate researched data into cost estimating software programs.
• Develop trade-specific scopes of work to align with project documentation.
• Lead and/or support the estimating team with cost and trade scope analysis.
• Respond to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or community members.
