Bear General Contractors is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Pensacola, FL. The role focuses on preconstruction budgeting, cost estimates, scheduling, and value engineering to drive successful project outcomes.

The candidate will develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors while contributing to the growth of the team through organized estimation practices and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Thorough knowledge of construction forecasting, cost, scheduling, and estimating.

Responsibilities

• Manage preconstruction activities including budgeting, scheduling, and estimating.
• Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for bidding projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Analyze and review construction plans and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-off, data input, and product research.
• Work with other Estimators and Project Managers to meet deadlines and QA expectations.
• Manage all RFIs in a timely manner and distribute relevant information to affected parties.
• Create cost efficiencies through ongoing estimating process improvement.

Bear General Contractors is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the preconstruction process, including the development of project budgets, cost estimates, scheduling, and value engineering. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and vendors as a highly organized individual focused on joining a growing team to make a positive impact on our projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage preconstruction activities including budgeting, scheduling, and estimating.
• Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for bidding projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Analyze and review construction plans and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-off, data input, and product research.
• Work in conjunction with other Estimators and Project Managers to adhere to quality assurance practices, finalize projects, and meet designated deadlines.
• Manage all Requests for Information (RFI) in a timely manner and coordinate and distribute relevant information to affected parties.
• Create cost efficiencies through ongoing estimating process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field of study.
• 5+ years of Commercial Construction Estimating Experience.
• Thorough knowledge of construction forecasting, cost, scheduling, and estimating.
• Ability to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
