Job summary

Wolverine Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in Grand Rapids, MI. You’ll develop conceptual, negotiated, and competitive bid estimates for commercial projects, partnering with project managers to shape upcoming work and win bids.

You will analyze drawings, specs, and contract documents, perform quantity take-offs, solicit subcontractor bids, and maintain bid schedules. Hybrid in-office work is available; remote is not offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience in ground-up commercial construction.
• Strong experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel (formulas, templates, data organization).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings across multiple trades.
• Experience preparing detailed, accurate estimates independently.
• In-office work with hybrid flexibility; remote not offered.
• Valid driver’s license and work authorized in the United States.

We’re adding a Construction Estimator to our Preconstruction team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys working on a variety of commercial projects and wants to play a key role in winning and shaping upcoming work.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Director of Preconstruction and Project Managers to develop accurate, competitive estimates across multiple delivery methods. You’ll have visibility into high-impact projects and the ability to influence outcomes from the earliest stages.

What We’re Looking For:

Required

• 5+ years of estimating experience in ground-up commercial construction
• Strong experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel (formulas, templates, data organization)
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings across multiple trades
• Experience preparing detailed, accurate estimates independently
• Ability to work in-office (hybrid flexibility available; fully remote not an option)
• Valid driver’s license
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

• Experience with healthcare, public works, or multifamily projects
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Primarily in-office with some flexibility
• Occasional travel to local job sites for pre-bid meetings
