Job summary

Flippo Construction Company, Inc. is a 100% Employee-Owned contractor based in Forestville, MD, with over 50 years building infrastructure in DC, VA and MD. We seek an experienced Construction Estimator for underground utilities, wet/dry work, and heavy civil projects.

You will draft bids, analyze plans, and coordinate with stakeholders while upholding our ESOP culture and strong benefit package. Qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 2–3 years of

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (grammar/spelling count).
• Strong organization and time management.
• Computer savvy with Outlook, Word, Excel; familiarity with HCSS/Heavy Bid.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all project stakeholders on timelines, labor, materials and budgets.
• Review project plans and specifications.
• Estimate crew costs, equipment, and daily expenses.
• Estimate production costs and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Flag potential risks to the Chief Estimator.
• Review estimates with the Chief Estimator and complete bid documents.
• Submit bids within deadlines and prepare turnover information.
• Lead job turnover to Superintendent and project management.
