Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Estimator for Architectural Metals in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on reviewing bids, analyzing plans, and preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in architectural metal estimating, with proficiency reading plans and specs. Local market knowledge is preferred and a team-oriented, deadline-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in Architectural Metals (Roofing, ACM Panels, Cladding)
• Local market knowledge preferred
• Ability to read plans and specifications
• Blue Beam experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Team player in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management to meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Review bid opportunities and advise on bids to pursue
• Attend pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates
• Analyze project plans, specs and details
• Analyze project finances and labor costs
• Prepare thorough bid packages for clients
• Prepare takeoffs/estimates of costs of materials, labor and equipment
• Prepare and follow-up on quotes
• Establish and maintain relationships with Strategic Accounts
• Review contracts and quotes for accuracy
• Prepare and maintain supplier directory
• Review products used in projects and analyze costs
• Consult and communicate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers

A Day in the Life

• Review bid opportunities and advise on the selection ofbids to pursue.
• Attend all pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
• Analyze and comprehend project plans, specs and details.
• Analyze project financials and labor costs.
• Complete thorough bid packages for clients.
• Prepare takeoffs/estimates of costs of materials, labor and equipment.

What you Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience Estimating in the Architectural Metals Industry – Metal Roofing, ACM Panels, Cladding and Exterior Metal Building Component knowledge
• Local market knowledge preferred
• Ability to read plans and specifications
• Blue Beam experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong Negotiation Skills
• Ability to be a team player and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management with the ability to meet tight deadlines
