Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Drafter/Designer to prepare detailed working shop drawings for architectural metals and glazing systems. You will collaborate with project teams to transform rough concepts into precise documents for fabrication and installation.

The role requires experience with AutoCAD and Revit, strong knowledge of architectural metal and glazing projects, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment. Competitive benefits and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of drafting experience for commercial roofing and/or architectural metal projects over $50K.
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD for shop drawings and details.
• Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Transform rough designs into working shop drawings using CAD software.
• Collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies and create multipurpose drawings.
• Incorporate fabrication standards and Flynn's standards to meet warranty requirements.
• Create 3D shop drawings and 2D drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Produce bill of materials for architectural sheet metal and glazing projects.
• Utilize Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam daily.

Responsibilities:

• Transforms initial rough designs into working documents using computer aided design (AutoCAD).
• Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies and create multipurpose drawings (approval, engineering, installation).
• Incorporates manufacture standards and Flynn's standards, to meet warranty requirements and provide all information for successful material installation.
• Creates original shop drawings in 3D model, and respective drawings using Revit & AutoCAD.
• Utilizes AutoCAD® to produce 2D drawings as directed.
• Has the ability to create bill of materials for architectural sheet metal projects, and/or glazing projects.
• Uses of Microsoft® Word, excel, outlook, and Bluebeam as part of daily routine.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in drafting of commercial roofing and/or architectural metal projects greater than $50K and/or architectural glazing.
• Substantive experience in the domains of fabrication, installation and logistics.
• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, office and enterprise software like Excel and MS Word.
• Basic understanding of specifications and components
• Basic geometry, trigonometry, math & writing skills
• Experience reading and understanding construction drawings
• Knowledge of production methods for metal fabrication and/or glazing system fabrication
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple complex designs with the project team.
• Experience in high value Commercial Roofing, Architectural Metal, and/or Glazing projects.
