Job Description

About the position: We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our estimating department. We perform all facets of site development for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ranging in size from $200K to over $20 million. The selected candidate will be responsible for procuring work to bid, bidding projects, negotiating contracts and change orders with owners/clients, and managing projects awarded. Responsibilities include coordinating with the accounting department on invoicing from subcontractors and vendors, reviewing or issuing subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinating with field personnel on projects.

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 5+ years estimating experience
• Excellent organizational skills, with an eye for detail
• Strong communication skills for dealing with clients and team members
• Existing client portfolio for project bidding
• Contacts with local engineering firms for project solicitation
• Ability to identify projects to bid on
• Experience in project management and cost control post-bid
• Proficiency in reading plans and specifications
• Understanding of contract documents
• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office and Bid2Win Software
• Experience with AGTEK earthwork take-off software
• Prior field experience is a plus
• Willingness to work required hours to meet deadlines
