Job summary

Johnson Barrow, a leading HVAC representatives firm in the Pacific Northwest, seeks an estimator to support sales and execution of projects from estimates through closeout. You will review drawings, prepare competitive estimates, and use manufacturer tools to develop quotes for major projects.

You’ll participate in pre-bid activities, bid reviews, and cross-functional coordination while building knowledge of our portfolio and pursuing professional growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience in the HVAC industry strongly preferred.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specs and documents to identify project requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive, accurate and competitive estimates/proposals.
• Use manufacturer tools and software to develop quotes.
• Participate in estimating, pre-qualification and pre-bid meetings.
• Coordinate bid reviews for strategic projects.
• Pursue professional development and product knowledge.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to obtain quotes and complete bid requirements.
• Communicate across the organization and assist with bid forecasting.

Job Description

As an estimator, you will regularly assist with sales and execution of projects from estimates through closeout. You will support and facilitate the implementation of Estimating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct detailed review of project documents to develop competitive estimates. The Estimating Department maintains an effective, organized and consistent workflow and we’ll be looking for you to do the same. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of helping major projects get off the ground while getting exposure to our impressive portfolio of work.

Responsibilities

• You’ll review construction drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify all project requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive, accurate and competitive estimates/proposals.
• Utilize various manufacturer tools and software to develop accurate manufacturer quotes.
• Participate in estimating, pre‑qualification and pre‑bid meetings with full engagement.
• Participate in sales meetings and coordinate bid reviews for strategic projects.
• Develop commitment to professional development through training, product knowledge. acquisition and continuous improvement.
• Work with manufacturers as required to obtain factory quotes and complete all bid requirements.
• Work cross‑functionally and communicate effectively across the entire organization.
• Support customer database management, bid forecast and pipeline as required

Requirements

• 2+ years of estimating experience
• Experience in the HVAC industry strongly preferred
• Sales is experience is not required, but a plus
• AutoCAD is not required, but a plus

Compensation: $28-35/hour plus bonus incentives
