Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Pavement Maintenance Estimator or similar role in the construction industry (preferred).
  • Blueprint takeoff (Bluebeam, STACK, etc.) software experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pavement maintenance techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assess project requirements, bid documents, and site conditions to understand scope.
  • Conduct on-site visits to gather pavement measurements and repair needs.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, operations, and subcontractors for project expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates using data, estimates, and industry knowledge.
  • Provide customers with detailed pavement maintenance budget plans.
  • Analyze plans, quantities, and material costs to determine labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and transparent proposals.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals by deadlines.
  • Review bid documents, contracts, and terms for risks and obligations.
  • Analyze historical data, industry trends, and market conditions for estimating strategies.
  • Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and labor rates to keep pricing current.
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to clarify details and hand over estimating information.

Job SummaryAs an employee serving as the Estimator/Account Executive at National Pavement Partners, a reputable concrete and asphalt construction company, you play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, analyzing data, and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for pavement maintenance projects. Your expertise in estimating, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of pavement maintenance growth techniques contribute significantly to successful project bidding and our company’s growth.

  • 1. Project Assessment:
  • Evaluate project specifications, bid documents, and site conditions to understand the scope and requirements of pavement maintenance projects.
  • Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather accurate information related to pavement conditions, measurements, and necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, operations, and subcontractors, to ensure a clear understanding of project expectations.
  • Utilize estimating software, historical data, and industry knowledge to develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for pavement maintenance projects.
  • Provide customers with detailed and accurate pavement maintenance budget plans.
  • Analyze project plans, quantities, and material requirements to determine labor, equipment, and material costs.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering alternatives while maintaining project quality and client requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and proposals, ensuring transparency and accuracy in estimating.
  • Bid Preparation:
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for pavement maintenance projects, adhering to project deadlines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with the bid team to ensure comprehensive and compelling bid submissions.
  • Review bid documents, contracts, and terms to understand project risks, opportunities, and contractual obligations.
  • Data Analysis and Research:
  • Analyze historical project data, industry trends, and market conditions to inform accurate cost estimating and bidding strategies.
  • Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and labor rates to maintain up-to-date and competitive pricing information.
  • Continuously improve estimating methods and techniques based on lessons learned and industry best practices.
  • Collaborative Communication:
  • Work with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify project details, resolve queries, and provide necessary information related to cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and accounting, to ensure accurate handover of estimating information and project requirements.

Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Pavement Maintenance Estimator or similar role in the construction industry (preferred).
  • Blueprint takeoff (Bluebeam, STACK, etc.) software experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pavement maintenance techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools.
