Job summary

The Redda Group Corporation, a locally owned, full-service commercial general contractor serving the Washington, DC metro area since 2009, is seeking an Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. You will report to the Director of Preconstruction, helping build a department designed to scale and develop people on it.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of commercial estimating experience, reads drawings and specs, and can perform quantity takeoffs, bid leveling, and scope reviews.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of commercial estimating experience with a GC or subcontractor.
• Experience preparing multi-trade or divisional estimates; able to grow beyond single-trade pricing.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and handle RFIs/addenda.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and Excel/Office.
• Familiarity with DMV subcontractors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned estimates from document review through final pricing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, and coverage.
• Conduct bid leveling and document scope and assumptions.
• Collaborate with a growing estimating team and a Director of Preconstruction.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Director of Preconstruction, you'll prepare assigned estimates from document review through final pricing. That includes quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach and coverage, bid leveling, and documenting scope and assumptions.

• Join a 3-person estimating team, plus a project coordinator, in a department that is actively expanding
• Learn and help refine the standardized bid procedures, templates, and workflows being built right now
• Gain exposure to base building, commercial interiors, healthcare, education, government/federal, and phased construction projects
• Clear room to grow into larger, more complex estimates and more client-facing responsibility

WHAT YOU BRING

• 3-6 years of commercial estimating experience with a general contractor or subcontractor
• Experience preparing multi-trade or divisional estimates, or a strong desire to grow beyond single-trade pricing
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and work through RFIs and addenda
• Solid skills in quantity takeoffs, bid leveling, and scope review
• Commercial interiors and/or base building experience preferred
• Familiarity with DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) subcontractors is a plus
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and Microsoft Excel/Office
• Clear written and verbal communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
• A four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required. Experience matters more.
