Job summary

Solutions Driven is seeking an Estimator focused on winning heavy civil work through accurate, timely bids. You will evaluate bid specs and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, solicit quotes, and collaborate with Project Management teams to close business.

This role is based locally with about 25% travel and focuses on bidding and winning work. Qualifications include 3+ years in heavy civil estimating, experience with airfield/roadway paving, and proficiency in MS Office; HCSS Heavy Bid and Civil

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating heavy civil work or equivalent field experience.
• Experience estimating airfield paving, construction paving, or roadways.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid specifications and drawings to develop accurate estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and solicit quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Project Management teams for bid follow-up and budget tracking.
• Manage end-to-end bid process from takeoff to submission, with travel as needed (~25%).

Job description

Our client is recruiting an Estimator focused on winning heavy civil work through accurate, timely bids. You'll evaluate bid specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, solicit quotes, and work with Project Management teams to close business. This is a locally based, less travel-intensive track within a broader growth initiative across the group.

Project Scope

Mass excavation, building excavation, underground utilities, airfield paving, construction paving, roadways, hardscape work. Potential exposure to data centre and large civil projects depending on placement.

Working Model

Location: Lomira, WI preferred; other offices considered depending on fit.

Travel: ~25% local travel.

Focus: Bidding and winning work, working closely with PM teams on bid follow-up and budget tracking.

About You

• 3+ years estimating heavy civil work, or Associate's degree in related field
• Experience estimating airfield paving, construction paving, or roadways
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Comfortable with tight deadlines and fast-paced environments
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, able to work independently
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred

• HCSS Heavy Bid proficiency (genuinely important for this role)
• Civil 3D experience for takeoffs and earthwork volume calculations
• Ability to walk through a bid end-to-end from takeoff through submission
