Job summary

Modern Grounds LLC in Florida is seeking an estimator to join our team, helping build a robust estimating and sales support function. You will read plans, gather pricing, and prepare accurate bid proposals for residential and commercial projects.

You will attend client meetings and project walks, provide takeoffs and measurements, and assist in cost estimation using Measure Square, Stack, and JobTread. A self-starter with leadership qualities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Estimator role preferred.
• Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; strong PC and mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Valid FL Driver's License.
• Ability to read and interpret plan drawings.
• Experience with estimating software (Measure Square, Stack, JobTread) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales Team and be responsible for all aspects of residential & commercial bidding.
• Read/interpret plans, gather pricing, compile data and prepare accurate tenders.
• Attend client meetings and site walks as needed.
• Provide takeoffs and measurements to support quoting efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities

We're growing fast, our pipeline is strong, and we need a sharp estimator to help us win more work — accurately and competitively. You will be key in helping build our estimating and sales support team. You must be a self-starter, driven, reliable, have leadership qualities and a strong work ethic.

You will support the Sales Team and be responsible for all aspects of the residential & commercial bidding process which will include reading/ interpreting plan drawings, gathering pricing, compiling data, calculating estimates and submitting accurate timely bid proposals. You will also attend client meetings and project walk-throughs of job sites as needed.

Measurements & takeoffs

• Perform Commercial & Residential takeoffs
• Prepare residential takeoffs and measurements (utilizing Measure Square) for sales to be able to properly quote job (open to exploring other software)
• Upload supporting documents for quote to computer program (JobTread) for easy access
• Prepare commercial takeoffs, measurements, and estimate costs (utilizing Measure Square and Stack – also open to exploring other software) for all incoming bids by studying plans and specifications
• Preferred Software Skills: MeasureSq, Moasure, Stack, and JobTread Experience a plus along with any other estimating software programs
• Support sales by providing proper takeoffs and measurements for quoting purposes
• Order all turf and accessories necessary to execute job. Utilizing most effective way for cost saving
• Facilitate seamless process and information from sales to installation team
• Assisting in field if need to confirm measurements and location
