Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field or equivalent estimating experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings.
• Strong analytical and math skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ERP software.
• Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to establish project requirements.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs and labor estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication projects.
• Request and evaluate quotations from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid summaries, and proposal documents.
• Build and maintain estimating spreadsheets, databases, and historical cost records.
• Work with engineering, fabrication, and purchasing teams to confirm estimate accuracy.
• Identify project risks, clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
• Support customer, vendor, and subcontractor relationships throughout the bidding process.
• Make occasional visits to the fabrication shop or project sites.
