Job summary

Green Key Resources has partnered with a well-established Commercial General Contractor in the Greater Philadelphia market to search for an Estimator with commercial construction experience.

The Estimator will develop accurate and competitive estimates for a diverse portfolio, collaborating with project teams, owners, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers from preconstruction through award.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Experience with a Commercial General Contractor strongly preferred.
• Experience estimating commercial interiors, renovations, tenant improvements, corporate/office, multifamily, or other commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and estimating principles.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and subcontractor proposals.
• Proficiency with construction estimating and takeoff software, including Bluebeam.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced preconstruction environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates.
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Develop scopes of work and identify potential scope gaps.
• Collaborate with project management and preconstruction teams throughout the bidding process.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
• Prepare bid packages and assist with proposal submissions.
• Maintain estimating files, bid documents, and historical cost information.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Support projects throughout the preconstruction and estimating process.

The company provides General Contracting, Construction Management, Preconstruction, Design-Assist, Conceptual Budgeting, and Estimating services, giving the Estimator the opportunity to be involved in projects from the earliest planning stages through award.

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the preconstruction process by developing accurate and competitive estimates across a variety of commercial projects.
