Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is seeking an Estimator for the Greater Philadelphia Area with 2-10 years of commercial estimating experience. The role focuses on commercial interiors and construction with emphasis on drywall, framing, and ceilings.

You will own bids, review drawings, and interact with leadership to shape bid strategy. The ideal candidate reads and interprets architectural documents, develops labor and material pricing, and manages multiple bids with attention to detail.

Qualifications

Greater Philadelphia Area - Estimator

A well-established, family-owned commercial specialty subcontractor in the Greater Philadelphia area is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 2-10 years of commercial estimating experience who wants to join a close-knit company where they can take ownership of their work, work directly with leadership, and continue growing their career.

The company specializes in commercial interiors and construction, with a strong focus on drywall, framing, ceilings and related scopes. They are looking for someone who understands the estimating process but also has a solid understanding of how projects are actually built.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate estimates and bids for commercial construction projects
• Review architectural drawings, specifications and project documents
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and scope reviews
• Develop labor and material pricing
• Review subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Identify potential scope gaps, conflicts and project risks
• Communicate with General Contractors and project teams throughout the bidding process
• Participate in pre-bid and post-bid discussions
• Help develop competitive and accurate proposals
• Work closely with company leadership on project selection and bid strategy
• Maintain organized estimating documentation and project information
• Potentially transition into additional project management responsibilities depending on experience and career goals

What We're Looking For

• 2-10 years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Experience with commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings or related interior scopes strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and labor requirementsExperience performing detailed takeoffs and building estimates
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before they become problems
• Comfortable communicating with General Contractors, vendors and internal team members
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
• Someone who is willing to get into the details of a project rather than simply pushing numbers through a spreadsheet
• Strong computer and estimating software skills

Software

Experience with estimating/takeoff software such as:

• On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
• Quick Bid
• Bluebeam
• Microsoft Excel

Experience with other estimating platforms is welcome.
