Novax Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an Estimator for structural and miscellaneous steel in New York, NY. This on‑site role offers a hybrid option with 1 day per week remote work for strong candidates.

The position involves reviewing drawings, performing take‑offs, pricing, and negotiating with subcontractors to support competitive bids and successful project handovers. Candidates should have 5+ years of steel estimating and proven NYC market experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience in structural/miscellaneous steel.
• Strong Bluebeam and Excel capability.
• Existing relationships with major NYC contractors (Turner, Tishman, Skanska, etc.).
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyse drawings.
• Proven ability to bring in $2-3M of awarded work annually.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for structural and miscellaneous steel packages.
• Perform steel take‑offs, quantity surveys, and pricing across materials, fabrication, coatings, freight, and erection.
• Solicit, analyse, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Assess labour requirements and constructability constraints for shop and field operations.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns.
• Attend bid reviews and support contract handover once work is awarded.
