ASSA ABLOY South Central Service Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Estimator to support customer bids and pricing for doors, frames, and hardware. This on-site role is based in a manufacturing facility and offers a hands-on chance to contribute to project costing and delivery.

You will review drawings, prepare quotes, and liaise with customers to ensure accurate estimates while coordinating with production and shipping teams.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of estimating experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Experience reviewing drawings and blueprints.
• Customer-facing liaison experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and prepare quotes for doors, frames, hardware, and shipping.
• Act as liaison between customers and internal teams.
• Verify accuracy of specifications and coordinate quotes.
• Communicate project status and schedule updates.
• Support field inspections and problem resolution.

What would you do as our Estimator?

• You would act as the liaison between us and our customers.
• You will review technical drawings and blueprints, prepare estimates and quotes utilizing existing pricing information as it relates to doors, frames, hardware preparations, shipping, any production or project problems, as well as assist with field inspections.
• Prepare quotes and estimates while considering product capabilities and limitations.
• Verify technical drawings and blueprints for accuracy, manufacturability, specification requirements and coordination of hardware.
• Communicate with customers on the status of the project, discrepancies, project delays, etc.
• Interpret templates, review quotes for elevations and input into the system for quoting.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.
• Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

The Skills and Experience you need:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year estimating experience, preferably in the hollow metal door openings industry, direct customer and contractor contact desired.
• General understanding of the construction industry, exposure to the commercial construction industry would be a plus.
• Exposure to building codes and labeling requirements would be a plus.
• Previous exposure to reading blueprints, shop drawings or engineering drawings desired.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, as well as exposure to an Order Management platform or an ERP system desired.
