Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking an Estimator in our Madison office to deliver accurate cost estimates for engineered building systems.

You’ll interpret drawings, benchmark data, and prepare conceptual estimates for MEPT projects, collaborating with project teams to drive value and accuracy. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of RS Means, and proficiency with estimating tools, with excellent communication and organizational skills to support bid and design

As an Estimator in our Madison office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why We Need You:

In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the creation of cost estimates for facility designs. Within this role, you will prepare conceptual estimates from scope documents and benchmarking data, will interpret construction documents, and translate graphic and written information into understandable cost estimate figures and language.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience and knowledge of construction materials, practices, methodologies and components for construction of engineered building systems with an emphasis on MEP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of RS Means and On Center or other estimating tools.
  • Ability to do conceptual estimating.
  • Mechanical estimating experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of building construction systems and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to work in a team environment across all levels of the organization.
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
  • Ability to juggle multiple demands
  • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines that may occur on a daily
