Job description
The Excavation Estimator will gather and analyze data to estimate and allocate costs for current and proposed excavation jobsites
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows Mission, Vision, Values
Completes project estimates including earthwork and utility takeoff
Meets and collaborates with all involved (clients/management) in proposed projects to understand the needs of the project and scope of work
Contacts subcontractors and vendors for accurate and best pricing
Creates and submits bid packages
Completes scope reviews including front-end documents, addendums, plan sheets changes, and bid clarifications
Reviews site online or in person to assess issues
Completes bid forms, bid letters, proposals appropriately and completely
Provides all requested breakdowns, allowances, labor rates, unit prices, and alternates
Builds client relationships
Follow up with clients on proposal status
Transfer estimate to a project in ProContractor
Conducts transition meetings to convey all estimating information to leadership team
Participates in all post-project evaluation meetings to determine “lesson Learned” for future projects
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, ProContractor, Blue Beam and Blue Prints (Construction Drawings)
Strong organizational skills
Understanding the process of earthwork and utility installation
Ability to work with little to no supervision
Effective communication and presentation skills
Strong ability to remain flexible in job hours worked as specific assignments change

Education and Experience
Valid Drivers License or State ID
Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent on-the-job experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to traverse different types of worksites and bend, climb, stretch, and reach
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull 50-pound loads at a time
Must be able to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to concrete, dirt, fumes, and loud noise levels
Must be able to work long hours and Saturdays when needed
