Job summary

Blayze Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator in Houston to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for high-end retail, office, medical, restaurant, and hospitality projects.

You will review bid documents, perform takeoffs, develop costs, and prepare complete proposals while managing multiple bids and deadlines with a focus on accuracy and value-engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience estimating commercial interiors, retail, office, medical, restaurant, or hospitality projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor, construction methods, and applicable codes.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and takeoff tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to producing accurate work.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and scopes of work.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, alternates, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and scope reviews as needed.
• Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Support project turnover and change-order pricing.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
