Take ownership of complex electrical bids where the details matter. This Electrical Construction Estimator will support commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects ranging from smaller change orders to multimillion-dollar contracts, managing the estimating process from initial opportunity review and site visits through takeoffs, vendor pricing, bid preparation, and project handoff.

This role is ideal for an estimator who understands electrical construction, knows how to dig into detailed plans and specifications, and takes pride in building accurate, transparent bids. The right candidate is self-motivated, highly organized and comfortable working collaboratively with project managers, senior estimators and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Review incoming bid opportunities and determine which projects align with the company’s capabilities, resources and growth strategy
  • Perform detailed electrical takeoffs and develop comprehensive estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, overhead and profit
  • Review drawings, specifications and prevailing wage requirements to identify project-specific costs, compliance requirements and potential risks
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, confirm specification compliance and document pricing assumptions

  • Prepare detailed bid packages and cost breakdowns for review with project managers, senior estimators and leadership
  • Support change-order pricing and prepare clear, client-ready cost documentation
  • Coordinate post-award handoffs with project managers, including reviewing estimates, vendor quotes, purchase requirements and supporting documentation
  • Maintain organized bid files, plans, specifications, and supporting documentation while helping prioritize a high volume of incoming opportunities
  • Participate in weekly bid meetings and collaborate with the team to identify and pursue the strongest project opportunities
Requirements
  • 2+ years of electrical construction estimating experience with an electrical subcontractor or equivalent electrical estimating experience within a closely related commercial construction trade
  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical construction; residential-only estimating experience will not qualify
  • Proven ability to read construction drawings, specifications and bid documents and translate them into accurate estimates
  • Experience preparing detailed bids, takeoffs, and material and labor cost calculations
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to efficiently organize, track and prioritize a high volume of bid opportunities
  • Ability to conduct local site visits and work effectively in an office-first, collaborative environment
  • Experience with prevailing wage, government, military, Army Corps, or other public-sector projects is highly preferred
Benefits
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance available following the eligibility period
  • 2 weeks of PTO to start with the potential for additional PTO based on experience
  • Accrued sick time
  • Gas card provided for required job-site travel
