Job summary

MPM Industries, Inc. is seeking an estimator to join our Glen Carbon, IL team. You will review plans and specs, develop material takeoffs, obtain pricing, and prepare proposals for commercial doors, frames, and hardware.

You’ll work with customers, suppliers, and our project team to define scope and resolve questions before award. You should have experience estimating commercial doors/frames/hardware, read plans accurately, and be proficient with Excel and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial doors, frames, and hardware from plans.
• Ability to read construction plans and specs.
• Knowledge of product applications and hardware sets.
• Accurate quantities and pricing; manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Excel, email, PDFs, and estimating software.
• DHI education or credentials; TOAD-CRT familiarity is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, door schedules, specifications and addenda to identify quantities, product requirements, and bid scope.
• Develop takeoffs and pricing for hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, architectural hardware, and related work.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations, freight, lead times, and applicable labor or service costs.
• Prepare proposals that clearly state inclusions, exclusions, alternates, and qualifications.
• Identify missing information and conflicts; coordinate bid questions, substitutions, and value engineering options.
• Maintain estimating records and bid deadlines, and update pricing when drawings or requirements change.
• Support preliminary detailing and transfer scope, pricing, and project assumptions to the team after award.

We supply commercial doors, frames, and hardware, architectural casework and millwork, and building specialties for commercial construction projects.Help MPM win commercial construction projects with accurate, well-defined bids. As an Estimator, you will review plans and specifications, develop material takeoffs, obtain vendor pricing, and prepare proposals for commercial doors, frames, and hardware. Requirements

What you bring

• Experience estimating commercial doors, frames, and hardware, with the ability to read construction plans and specifications.
• Working knowledge of product applications, hardware sets, and common commercial opening requirements.
• Accuracy with quantities and pricing; ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication and proficiency with Excel, email, PDF documents, and estimating software.
• DHI education or credentials, experience with TOAD-CRT or comparable industry software, and familiarity with project purchasing or detailing are helpful.
