Job summary

Perini Management Services in Framingham, MA is seeking an in-person Estimator for our Home office. You will review solicitations, solicit subcontractor quotes, and develop scope packages to support proposals.

Responsibilities include evaluating proposals for scope and cost accuracy, and coordinating with design teams on design-build RFPs. Prior government project experience is a plus, with relocation considered for strong candidates.

Qualifications

• Review project solicitation documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations, prepare bid packages and respond to inquiries.
• Develop scope of work packages to define project requirements via narratives, checklists, and take-offs.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals for accuracy in scope, quantities, inclusions/exclusions.
• Experience with government projects is a plus.

As a Estimator at Perini Management Services, reporting to the Chief Estimator, you will have the opportunity to work on unique and exciting U.S Federal Government construction projects.

Description:

• Review project solicitation documents for accuracy and completeness and develop questions as they relate to assigned scope of work
• Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations, prepare and distribute bid document packages, respond to inquiries, being knowledgeable of respective scopes of work and responsibilities
• Develop scope of work packages to define project work requirements through narratives, checklists, and quantity take-off
• Evaluate and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure accuracy in scope. (Quantities, schedule, inclusions, exclusions, etc.)
• Prepare subcontractors/vendors price analysis sheets
• Coordinate with design team, on design-build RFP’s, to support development of proposals

Skills:

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with multiple projects at the same time
• Ability to understand construction documents and develop scopes of work
• Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word primarily)
• Working knowledge of On-Screen take-off software or similar a plus
• Working knowledge of estimating software - Sage Estimating (Timberline) experience a plus

Experience:

• 4 + years of experience in the construction industry
• BS in Engineering or Construction Management desired
• Experience in fixed price, design-build, and/ or self-perform construction estimating a plus
• Experience with Government projects a plus
