Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY in Fountain, CO is seeking a full-time Estimator to develop accurate project estimates for traffic safety construction. You will review plans, compute quantities, and prepare budgets for GC bids, using MHT plans and various estimating tools.

The role requires strong detail, organization, and teamwork to support sales and project execution. The position emphasizes timely quote turnaround, proactive communication with customers and internal teams, and continuous process

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction estimating or related industries preferable.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans or specs.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating software, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of traffic control standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare estimates and quantity takeoffs.
  • Develop preliminary budgets and estimates during General Contractor bidding phases.
  • Build accurate estimates using Maintenance of Traffic (MHT) plans produced by the Plans Department.
  • Interpret project drawings, traffic control plans, and scope requirements to determine labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor needs.
  • Maintain expected quote turnaround times and prioritize estimate requests appropriately.
  • Respond to customers, sales staff, and internal departments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and the Plans Department to ensure accurate project scoping and successful execution.
  • Support sales efforts by assisting with pricing strategy, revisions, value engineering, and project discussions.
  • Follow up on assigned quotes and maintain communication with customers regarding bid status and project updates.
  • Enter and manage quote activity, follow-up notes, opportunity tracking, and account-related information within Salesforce.
  • Maintain organized estimate files, bid documentation, and supporting project records.
  • Communicate resource needs, scheduling concerns, and operational impacts internally when necessary.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of estimating processes, workflows, and reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities
