Job summary

Fabulous Floors, LLC in Farmers Branch, TX is seeking an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator to join our Dallas estimating team. You will produce takeoffs across carpet, LVT, vinyl, tile, and hardwood, and work closely with our Sales team to prepare competitive bids.

This full-time, in-office role requires at least 4 years of estimating experience, strong plan-reading skills, and proficiency with MeasureSquare 8 and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of commercial flooring estimating experience with multifamily and/or commercial projects.
• Proficiency in MeasureSquare 8 or directly comparable estimating software.
• Strong plan-reading skills across architectural, finish, and detail sheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to review or coordinate with third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

• Produce takeoffs and estimates in MeasureSquare 8 across carpet, LVT, sheet vinyl, tile, hardwood, and resilient products.
• Review construction documents and identify scope gaps before they become field problems.
• Issue and track RFIs to close out unclear scope, allowances, and substitutions.
• Partner with Sales Representatives to finalize budgets and present pricing to GCs and owners.
• Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders on bid timelines and scope changes.
• Manage multiple active bids and meet committed delivery dates.
• Review estimates from third-party vendors and ensure SOP alignment across all estimates.

The Opportunity

We are hiring an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator to join our Dallas estimating team. This is an immediate need backfilling a tenured estimator. You’ll work alongside an established senior estimator and partner directly with our Sales team to produce accurate, competitive bids across our full sector mix. The right candidate is someone who has run commercial takeoffs at scale, knows how to read a set of plans critically, and understands when to issue an RFI rather than guess.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce takeoffs and estimates in MeasureSquare 8 across carpet, LVT, sheet vinyl, tile, hardwood, and resilient products.
• Review construction documents — plans, specs, and addenda — and identify scope gaps before they become field problems.
• Issue and track RFIs to close out unclear scope, allowances, and substitutions.
• Partner with Sales Representatives to finalize budgets and present pricing to GCs and owners.
• Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders on bid timelines and scope changes.
• Manage multiple active bids and meet committed delivery dates.
• Review estimates produced by third-party estimating vendors and manage those vendors on any updates or changes to estimating software, templates, or SOPs to ensure all estimates — internal and external — follow the same standard operating procedures.
• Resolve client questions and revisions promptly and professionally.

Required Experience

• Minimum 4 years of commercial flooring estimating experience (multifamily-only or residential-only experience will not be a fit).
• Proficiency in MeasureSquare 8 or directly comparable estimating software.
• Working knowledge of carpet, LVT, sheet vinyl, tile, and hardwood, including substrate prep and moisture mitigation considerations.
• Strong plan-reading skills across architectural, finish, and detail sheets.
• Comfortable managing multiple bids with overlapping deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Preferred

• Experience reviewing or coordinating with third-party estimating vendors.
• Background working in partnership with an outside sales team.
• Familiarity with AIA contract documents and commercial bid processes.
