Job description

BUILDER WANTED. Estimator

Not just an Estimator. A Builder. You build the numbers behind confident decisions. You turn plans, specifications, pricing, and project information into accurate estimates that help teams understand what it will take to build the work right. You're detail-oriented, analytical, eager to learn, and ready to grow alongside experienced estimators while supporting projects of varying levels.

At SSRG, we're looking for an Estimator who can support the estimating team with accurate takeoffs, organized cost information, bid preparation, and the follow-through that supports high-quality service and organizational growth.

A Legacy of Building Careers

At Structural Systems Repair Group, we thrive on taking on challenges and solving problems that others might consider impossible. We believe exceptional work begins with people who share our values and commitment to excellence. We recognize that our employees are more than professionals; they’re individuals with families, passions, and full lives outside of work. That’s why we emphasize balance, supporting both professional growth and personal fulfillment. Our culture thrives on celebrating victories together, encouraging growth, and making a lasting impact on our clients and community. At SSRG, we’re not just preserving and restoring structures; we’re building a legacy of quality, integrity, and purpose.

  • Work with senior estimators to develop cost-analysis and bid-preparation skills.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids against project specifications and requirements.
  • Prepare bid packages with accurate scopes of work and pricing.
  • Maintain project documentation and historical cost data for future estimates.
  • Participate in meetings with project managers, clients, and team members to discuss estimates and resolve issues.

  • Collaborate with procurement to gather accurate material and equipment pricing.
  • Improve estimating processes while maintaining compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of proprietary costing information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You Bring

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
  • Ability to travel locally within a reasonable distance of the main office with reasonable notice from management.
Preferred, But Not Required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, take initiative, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of construction contracts and terminology.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
The Bottom Line

This is an opportunity to build estimating experience while contributing directly to the work that helps projects move from plans to execution. You'll learn from experienced estimators, work across project teams, and help create accurate cost information that supports strong decisions and high-quality service.

We're not looking for someone to simply fill in numbers. We're looking for someone who pays attention, asks questions, protects the integrity of the information, and wants to keep building their knowledge of construction estimating. If that sounds like you, let's build something great together.
