Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking an Estimator to develop reliable estimates for large-scale commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. The role combines negotiated bids and design-build work, requiring close collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams to deliver accurate cost projections.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in estimating or related fields, a technical background, and strong writing and communication skills.

• Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing professionals.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of resource planning and financial planning.
• Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.

• General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.

We are looking for an Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in developing successful estimates for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects. This position involves a combination of negotiated hard bids and design-build work, requiring close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure accurate, thorough estimates. The ideal candidate will help ensure project success by delivering reliable cost projections that align with our clients' needs and project goals.

Requirements For This Role Include

• 3+ years of estimating, engineering, construction, or project management experience in related markets.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing professionals is required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Technical background with an understanding of building engineering and commercial projects.
• Detailed knowledge of resource planning and financial planning.
• Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based at our HQ in Sterling, VA and is 100% onsite.
